South Korea begins anti-dumping investigation into cold-rolled stainless steel imported from Vietnam, 3 companies named

Korea selects 3 suppliers for anti-dumping investigation on cold-rolled stainless steel products. The investigation will take place in 6-8 months.

On May 30, the Korea Trade Commission decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on cold-rolled stainless steel products originating or imported from Vietnam based on the request of Posco Co., Ltd. sent on April 30.

Accordingly, the scope of investigation is cold-rolled stainless steel products classified according to HSK codes 7219.31.1010, 7219.31.1090, 7219.31.9000, 7219.32.1010, 7219.32.1090, 7219.32.9000, 7219.33.1010, 7219.33.1090, 7219.33.9000, 7219.34.1010, 7219.34.1090, 7219.34.9000, 7219.35.1010, 7219.35.1090, 7219.35.9000, 7219.90.1010, 7219.90.1090, 7219.90.9000, 7220.20.1010, 7220.20.1090, 7220.20.9000, 7220.90.1010, 7220.90.1090, 7220.90.9000.

The three suppliers selected for investigation include Yongjin Metal Technology Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), TVL Corporation, and TVL Steel Manufacturing and Construction Corporation.

The Korean Trade Commission requests relevant parties to provide information, documents, and instructions on providing information, the deadline for providing information, and other relevant contents.

Within 3 months from the date of initiation, the preliminary investigation will take place. Once the preliminary investigation results are available, the main investigation will take place within 3 months and may last for up to 2 months.

The Korean side will investigate during the period from January 1 to December 31, 2023 and monitor domestic industrial damage during the period from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023, and may extend further if deemed necessary.

In response to the above information, the Trade Remedies Authority, Ministry of Industry and Trade recommends the following to relevant parties: Carefully study the initiation notice, prepare required information and documents, fully cooperate with the Korean Trade Commission throughout the entire process of the case; proactively contact and coordinate with the Authority to receive timely support.
